THRIVING FAMILIES PLATFORM
Minnesota is ranked among the top states for health services and biomedical technology, yet primary care has become unaffordable for so many families. Meanwhile, we are living on the front end of a healthcare collapse, with unimaginable cuts to Medicaid and MinnesotaCare impacting more and more of our neighbors.
If elected, I will champion the Minnesota Health Plan and propose a pilot program for Universal Primary Care in cities across Minnesota. In a state with incredible doctors and nurses, we can become a North Star for equity of health access. I will pursue a Minnesota where everyone has access to unlimited primary care.
• Champion the Minnesota Health Plan as a pathway toward broader, more equitable health coverage
• Propose and advance a pilot program for Universal Primary Care in cities across Minnesota
• Protect access to primary care as Medicaid and MinnesotaCare face deep and damaging cuts
• Work with Minnesota’s doctors and nurses to expand equitable access to care
• Push for a healthcare system where everyone can access unlimited primary care
Working families are doing everything in their power to pursue the American Dream. Yet, this dream is becoming increasingly unaffordable, with skyrocketing costs for housing and groceries.
I will work to pursue public policies that advance worker opportunities, bolster small businesses, and tackle the affordability crisis in our communities. I will also push for economic development programs and updated wage theft legislation. To ensure every district resident has secure housing, I will pursue dedicated revenue to make stable housing affordable. We must protect renters and family homes while creating new opportunities for first-time homeowners.
• Advance public policies that expand worker opportunities and strengthen small businesses
• Push for economic development programs that address rising costs for working families
• Update and strengthen wage theft legislation to protect workers
• Pursue dedicated revenue to make stable, affordable housing accessible in every district
• Protect renters and family homes while expanding opportunities for first-time homeownership
In my day job, I work as a lawyer for small businesses and nonprofits operated by immigrants and people of color. At the same time, I challenge corporate corruption by creating a firm that aggressively litigates wage theft and recovers money from fraudsters and bad faith actors. While Minnesota is ripe with innovation, we also face corporate abuses, including corporate pollution and workers' rights violations.
I will take my experience with corporate accountability from the courtroom to the legislature, pursuing new frameworks for a fair economy.
• Use courtroom experience holding fraudsters and bad faith actors accountable to inform legislative action
• Aggressively confront wage theft and corporate abuses that harm workers
• Address corporate pollution and workers’ rights violations
• Support small businesses and nonprofits operated by immigrants and people of color
• Advance new frameworks that promote a fair and accountable economy
I believe every Minnesotan deserves to live in a safe, stable community where families can thrive. I will invest in community-based safety programs, expand mental health crisis response, and ensure local governments have the resources they need to meet people where they are.
Real safety isn’t about reacting to crises — it’s about building strong neighborhoods from the ground up. As your senator, I’ll work every day to create a Minnesota where everyone feels secure, supported, and seen.
• Invest in community-based safety programs that strengthen neighborhoods
• Expand mental health crisis response to meet people where they are
• Ensure local governments have the resources needed to support community safety
• Focus on proactive solutions that build long-term stability
• Work to create communities where every Minnesotan feels secure, supported, and seen
Two years ago, I had the honor of participating in a delegation with Minnesota leaders to Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. Even in the midst of hurricanes and hardship, residents of Adjuntas developed a solar hub to power vital services across their city, investing in their infrastructure, economy, and energy independence.
In the legislature, I will champion new state funding for green energy projects across the state, seeking to make Minnesota a beacon for a green energy transition. Even as the federal government neglects its climate obligations, we will pave a new path for an electrified economy that serves families and workers.
• Champion new state funding for green energy projects across Minnesota
• Support investments that strengthen energy independence and local infrastructure
• Advance a green energy transition that benefits families and workers
• Work toward an electrified economy even as federal leadership falls short
I attended our district’s public schools, including Olson Elementary and Richfield High School. While they are cornerstones of our community, schools across the state are facing a budget crisis, exacerbated by the slashing of federal funds.
I am shaped by my lived experiences as the son of a school teacher and the father of two students in the district. I will be clear that we need a new deal for our school system that invests first in our students, teachers, and families. We will not let federal politics get in the way of a fully-funded public education system that serves every student’s needs.
• Invest first in students, teachers, and families
• Address the school budget crisis impacting districts across Minnesota
• Protect public education funding despite cuts to federal support
• Fight for a fully-funded public education system that meets every student’s needs
I have a history of defending our communities from abuse and lifting up the voices of the marginalized. While on the DFL Central Committee, I fought for the right for immigrants to participate in caucuses and conventions, because no Minnesotan should be excluded from their local party due to a federal status. As a Richfield City Councilmember, I lead on instituting language accessibility initiatives. In my day job, I work as a lawyer for small businesses and nonprofits operated by immigrants and people of color.
I will use my personal, legal experience in community to defend residents of SD 51 from federal abuse and overreach.
